While having insurance I got essentially locked into a room. I had a growth at my surgical site.. it caused additional pain and needed to check it out. An intern then a 20 year neurologist and me had a pretty rough fight. They wanted to “re-open the surgical site to check for infection”. They told me that testing with a needles could cause meningitis. I’m asking the scientific community is that practical? I’m not a Dr. however in my mind thinking practically wouldn’t have opening the site been worse? So they got to ding my insurance to a room while I waited on my hypothesis. When the Director showed up immediate release, as prior it would have been without Dr. consent and I would have paid out of pocket. Be careful out there if you have good insurance.
